Kim Kardashian, and I Don’t Care

I’m in my recording studio now, and I’d like to sing you a little tune called “Kim Kardashian.”

(Sung to the melody of “Jimmy Crack Corn.”)

************************************

Kim Kardashian, and I don’t care
Kim Kardashian, and I don’t care
Kim Kardashian, and I don’t care
She broke the Internet, mine still works

She can balance a glass on her shiny ass
An ass that’s fake and if it isn’t I don’t care
Did she have work, I don’t want to know
Most people can wave their ass at the camera and it will look big

She did that video with Kanye
Had sex on the motorcycle, ask me if I care
I watched ten seconds, and I really didn’t care
James and Seth’s parody, I watched it twice

Bruce is the step-dad, her mom is Kris
She has a bunch of sisters, one with a makeup contract
They did a show, I know nothing about
I never watched it once

Not ever…

(Sing it with me with now!)

Kim Kardashian, and I don’t care
Kim Kardashian, and I don’t care
Kim Kardashian, and I don’t care
She broke the Internet, mine still works

******************************

Call this procrastination, I don’t care
If you don’t like this, I don’t care
If I got it wrong, I don’t care
Thanks for letting me get this out of my system, I feel so much better

      1. They aren’t overly abundant here, but we had wines from Renwood, Jeff Renquist, Lava Cap, Boerger, and maybe a couple others. But overall, the zins were my favorite.

      2. I’m most familiar with Lava Cup and Boerger. I’ve been to those wineries. Those are good ones! I think I’ve heard of Renwood, but not Jeff Renquist. Zins are delicious. Good choice.

  1. Ack! Earworm! Thanks. I don’t this is the first time you did this to me.

There has always BEEN a Kim Kardashian. There will always BE a Kardashian. People like the distraction. They need it. Remember Paris Hilton? What the hell happened to her? NEXT.

    1. Another earworm!! Oh, no. I just keep them coming.

You are SO right about this. Whatever happened to Paris. Next, is right. Why do we need someone like this? For a distraction? Don’t we have enough? Do you think this has always been, even before reality TV? I expect a full report on my desk. 🙂 Please find out if anyone is working on a “filter” for the Internet, you know, for the everyday person.

  2. Too funny! I have been humming that tune ever since I saw your title pop into my stream. I really didn’t expect it to be that tune! I don’t care either. Never have. Never will. I saw something about her butt breaking the internet but didn’t bother to find out how or why. Not that there is ever a good reason for that monstrosity.

    1. Ha, that’s funny that you didn’t expect the song, and here it is! Maybe you dreamed about it, Michelle. You knew. This will, I promise, be the first and last time I write about her! I just need to laugh about it. I wonder if everyone is as clueless about her as I am. We are kindred spirits, you and me.

  3. Ah, that’s pretty funny, Amy. I agree, I really don’t care either. It seems she’s just trying to stay in the news and it takes a lot of hubris to think that one more nude photo shoot could break the Internet, no matter who it is. As you said, mine’s fine. 🙂

    1. Thanks, David. I guess I’m marveling at how stupid it all it is. I can’t even believe I’m writing about it. It will be the first and last time I write about this. I did feel the need to get it out my system. I can carry on as before now. 🙂

  4. Yep … along the lines of our on-going conversation via comments … she’s a wonderful example of what’s wrong with our society. More people probably know the intimate details of her life than bothered to vote a couple of weeks ago.

    1. It’s a sad commentary on our society. My point is that I don’t know many intimate details about her, yet she is still is so THERE! I can’t seem to get away from her. As far as politics go, people are fed up, and it’s easy to understand why with corporations running political campaigns. Of course, this doesn’t mean they shouldn’t vote. We can’t let that happen.

      1. I know virtually nothing about her as well except, as you say, she just stays out there. Always finding new ways to generate buzz about herself.

As for politics … I’m really close to giving up on it.

    1. HAHAHA! Yes, I’m sure she could. Now, that is funny. Thanks for the laugh. Her butt can help sell the extra big phone! How does anyone talk on that thing? Oh wait. Do we talk on our phones anymore?

      1. I’d almost be tempted to get the large screen, because I hardly use my phone for talking anymore. I can understand wanting one you could fit in your pocket. I can always throw mine in a big purse. 🙂

  5. Great post, Amy! Thanks for turning me onto those motorcycle videos. I am sharing those with Milton at warp speed. I LOVE the one with James and Seth! I saw the pictures of Kim and I saw the original Champagne Incident picture of Carolina Beaumont, the model from 1976, balancing that champagne glass on her ass. The original image strikes me as a statement about racist stereotype whereas Kardashian’s mimicking it strikes me more as this ignorant white dumb bell doing her latest round of publicity whoring. What have we come down to culturally? Susan Sontag must feel so relieved to be dead.

    1. Thanks, V! I think I only watched the motorcycle video when I learned of the parody, and did go back to watch bits of the first one, to see how it matched, because it’s done move for move perfectly. That’s what is so funny. I hope Milton enjoys it. What would Susan say?! I looked her up and saw some of her quotes. She would have a field day with this. Thanks for all your comments.

  6. Amy, wrote a song and we should care,
Amy, wrote a song and we should care.
She telling it like it is about the K-A-R-D-A-S-H-I-A-N-S
    Why they are still famous?
    We’ll never know.

    We’ll never know.

Only thing I do know is that Amy stole the show.

  7. Amy – I received a phone call earlier today from my Music Director while we were pre-recording the Christmas Carols album. As a musician and from an Armenian Father and A Jewish Mother, I had tears reading your blog to Kim Kardashian. This is indeed a harsh and painful words towards Kim. I don’t want to say anything else. I wish this was not shared at all.

  8. My feelings exactly, Amy. I didn’t even know who she was until fairly recently and now I still don’t really know why she is “famous” or infamous, which is probably closer to the truth. And I don’t care that I don’t get it. In fact, I don’t want to get it. Too many other, real, things about which to care.

    1. There are so many things, yet I get pulled away from those things. Such is life on the Internet. I suppose if I really want to concentrate, I must unplug myself. Still, she captures the attention. As one blogger remarked, there is always someone to fill that space! Maybe so. Thanks, Janet.
