Its good to be back to my Friday Fictioneers. I have a bit of fantasy for you today. Hope you like it.
Thanks to Madison Woods for the photo and for Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting. I hope she feels better real soon.
All are welcome to participate. Why not write your own story? Here are instructions for joining in.

Genre: Fantasy (100 words)
Sky Benders
It was the Sky Benders, or that’s what they were named as people told their tales and described what they saw.
“It swirled like a tornado,” said the shopkeeper. “The sky became dark as tar and then,” he jabbed his finger upwards, “the clouds turned into a web with spiders shooting out of it.”
Clouds mutated into dinosaurs and pigs with long, clawed coils and snatched up any onlookers.
With a bolt of fire, the sky sealed tight and dropped…a lonely shoe. Its owner now belonged to the sky.
No one doubted the sky could bend and would take again.

I’m convinced.
Although, my warped mind is trying to figure out how to take this shoe and turn it into a Cinderella story. Hopefully, it was the wicked step-mother who got sucked up in the clouds.

Ha! Now that would be an interesting twist for a Cinderella story. I love where your mind went with this. Thanks, Russell.

Sounds like a dangerous place to live. I like the idea of the sky suddenly reaching down and nabbing people (well not “like” if it was happening here obviously!).

Yes, very dangerous. Obviously. 🙂 But if you choose to believe, I won’t stop you, Ali!

Lots of imagery. Fits the fantasy genre … which surprised me because I can’t recall you do that before. So, cheers to stepping outside the box.

Dear Amy,
Imaginative and visual. I could see every one of those descriptions. If you ever decide to write this into a longer story, let me know. It sounds intriguing. (And it would be fun to illustrate. 😉 )
Shalom,
Rochelle
PS I’m starting to feel a little more human. Eating is still the biggest challenge. Sigh. My mouth has really been kicking my butt for the past two months. 😦

Thank you, Rochelle! Thanks for the compliments. 🙂 I’ll definitely let you know. I think this one would lend itself well to illustrations. Great idea. I’m actually writing a bigger story around this, but I’m not yet sure how it all connects. I just want this part in because I like it so much!
I can’t even think how you would begin to eat. Oh, my. Perhaps, this is a good time for a milkshake! So sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with this. Hang in there.
