This week’s photo challenge is to share photos from your ideal day or some of your favorite things. My photos are some snapshots from my summer. My ideal day is usually spent close to a large body of water. These photos were all taken in California from Lake Tahoe, La Jolla and Huntington Beach.
The other part of the challenge was to present photos in a gallery possibly using Mesh. It’s pretty simple to add photos in Mesh. However, it may cut off photos in the Full Screen View. Photos look quite nice in this view when they don’t cut off. If they are cutting off, you can simply click inside the photo (in either view) and it will present the photo as it was uploaded.
To view photos with the full screen option, click on the dashed box (the second one in from the right. Got it?). I hope you like my summer snapshots.

So pretty with the mountains in the background!

Love how the seal echoes the female sculpture (Mary?), which was random, and yet fitting. I saw that challenge too, and may still try to muster an attempt. So hard in these busy summer days!! Cheers to the ocean, the sand and sky!

Oh, what a fascinating take of the seal. echoing Mary. I bet you would have some wonderful photos to share, Jen! You should do it if you can. It does take a little more time to do the gallery because you have to find those photos first. 🙂 Thanks, Jen. Cheers! To the ocean, the sand and sky.

Is it just me, but I heard happy and sunny Beach Boys music in my head while watching the pictures 😉

Great photos! I think the third from the last is my favorite. Love the color…gray hues. Boys define youth in the summer! Such happy faces.

I think we have the same favorite, Audra! Thanks. It’s especially meaningful to capture those happy, youthful faces. I hope they’re always this happy.

Moved my daughter in this weekend at college…now on to helping my other sophomore – it doesn’t end no matter how old they get, I swear lol

I bet! Oh, a busy weekend for you. And, a big one and emotionally charged! I imagine it’s bittersweet to see a kid off to college. I hope you can carve some time out for yourself, too. 🙂

I’m actually okay with it. She needs to spread her wings and she knows the nest is only 30 minutes away! She’s already called me saying she misses me, and I told her she just left for heaven’s sake! We’ll see how many more calls I get like that real soon here, I’m sure lol

Lol. Only 30 minutes. Oh, she misses you! I’m sure everything will settle. 🙂

Oh yeah, she’ll be fine – she just doesn’t know that yet. She’s going to be 19 this month and she’s still my little girl 🙂

I bet she always will be. 🙂

Absolutely – and I can’t wait until she has a daughter someday who I hope will be just like her. 🙂

What is it about water? There’s something mesmerizing and therapeutic about it. Must be primal.

Water is definitely those things for me, Mark. Primal sums it up nicely! It feels so pure when you swim in a natural body of water. I don’t get quite the same feeling in a swimming pool.

We all feel the same way. That’s why beachfront homes are only available to the wealthy.
