This week’s photo challenge is Narrow and I’m in luck! I have just the photo for you.
From spaghetti to the quiet alley behind your house, this week show us something narrow.
Can you tell what’s happening in this picture? Look closely.
Can you figure it out?
This is what’s happening. First of all, we are in San Francisco. A bus is making a left turn into the lane of this cable car (in the foreground, on the right side). People in the middle are those who are holding on the poles on the outside of the cable car, including my son with the cool shades (because he’s too cool!).
What made it a tight fit was the parked car on the left side of the street (not seen). The whole time I thought, “Must we do this!” I was on pins and needles, but had to take a photo. I think my son might even be a bit worried in this one.
I have a feeling this wasn’t the first time this has happened. They seemed to know what they were doing. My favorite thing are the expressions of the bus passengers, almost as they couldn’t be bothered or as if we weren’t there at all.
Me, I’d say it’s a close call! That’s public transportation for you. Always an adventure!

Bit of a tight squeeze!

I knew you would figure it out, Lion. It has been a while for me too that I’d be on one. My kids loved it! It’s better than Disneyland. 🙂

Thanks, Stephen. It’s a bit mind boggling, isn’t it?

I love this shot – the angles and lighting and just plain “moment in life” aspect of it. Loved the trolleys there when I visited a few years ago… and Lombard Street! Talk about maneuvering in tight spaces! 🙂

Thanks so much, Kelly! Glad you liked it. It’s one of those moments I’ll never forget. It’s a classic San Francisco experience I think. 🙂

What a fun adventure to ride the trolley in San Fran! Born near there you know! I like that you are telling stories with your shots Amy or that you’re taking lots of pictures to something with them later. Bloggers!!!
Tomorrow 5th Blogaversary. Yours is right before mine I think so Happy Day to you too.

I didn’t know you were born near there or did I? I just picture you at on the East coast I guess. I’m always taking photos especially on vacation. Sometimes, I just need to put my phone away. But yes, I wanted to take this one!
It’s four for me this year! Congrats to your Blogaversary, Shalagh. That’s a wonderful accomplishment!
Love,
Amy
